Orienteering is an outdoor sport which requires you to find your way around a course whilst running, using a detailed map or a compass. You have to find your way through a sequence of set control points and decide the best way to finish the route in the quickest time. It does not matter how young, old or fit you are, as you can run, walk or jog the course and progress at your own pace. It can take place anywhere; from school playgrounds to open countryside to remote forests. Its a great sport for runners who wish to improve on their navigation skills.
